FORT LEE, N.J. -- The Fort Lee Film Commission will host a free screening of the 1980 award-winning documentary "The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter" on Friday, May 13.
The Film Commission will also premiere a short film produced by the commission on our local Rosie the Riveters and members of the Fort Lee VFW. The program will be introduced by state Sen. Loretta Weinberg and members of the commission.
This year's Fort Lee VFW Memorial Day Parade Co-Grand Marshal Maureen Ford will be introduced as well. Ford "was a defense plant worker during World War II, so she is our Fort Lee Rosie the Riveter," organizers note.
The screening will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Lee High School auditorium, 3000 Lemoine Ave. The doors open at 7 p.m. For more info, call 201-693-2763.
