FORT LEE, N.J. -- How do you become the ideal you? It begins with developing good manners and proper social skills in childhood, followed by a healthy dose of education, proper parental guidance, exceptional college placement and a forever attitude of continuous life learning.

On Wednesday, the Fort Lee Library will host a free program open to all but of special interest to parents, middle-school and high-school students getting ready to choose a college and begin establishing life goals.

"A Panel Discussion on High School Success and Optimum College Placement: Academic & Social Consideration" will have three speakers whose lives and careers are dedicated to sharing the knowledge of educational success. Miguel Brito, Dr. John Chuback and Malvina Peckerman will speak and be available to field questions from the audience.

Brito is a former director of college guidance and testing at Dwight Englewood School. He became head of school for Newark's St. Philip's Academy, the precursor to Philip's Academy, in 2000. He will provide insights on college placement and optimizing the college experience, focusing on finding the right fit.

Chuback enjoys sharing what he has learned about mastering the educational process by teaching young people how they can become successful in all facets of their lives. He's the author of "Kaboing! 50 Ideas that will Springboard You to Academic Greatness." You can visit his website, here.

Peckerman is a certified children's etiquette coach. Her mission is to help instill manners into children's everyday lives and have each child understand the importance of kindness and respect for all. Her website is here.

No registration is required. The program will begin at 7 p.m. The library is at 320 Main St. To keep up with library events, visit its website or Facebook page.
