In addition to honoring community volunteers, the event will feature both silent and live auctions, cocktails, a buffet dinner, and a performance by the Young People's Chorus @ Thurnauer.

Proceeds will help meet the pressing issues of people in need in these communities. This year's theme is "Coming Together as a Community," and the event welcomes friends and supporters to an evening of fun and philanthropy.

"The evening is designed to fulfill the mission of the organization's founders more than 80 years ago," a news release noted. "Their vision was to fill a chest with individuals and businesses' generous contributions and to empty its contents by awarding grant funds to support worthy projects led by local nonprofits in Englewood, Tenafly and Englewood Cliffs.

Each year, the Community Chest carries out this mission with increased generosity to help people in need in these communities. This year, two individuals and an organization will receive the honor of 2016 Outstanding Community Volunteer.

Joe Klyde, a former board member of the Community Chest Board of Managers, participated on a grassroots level to sustain and grow the organization and is an active member in the Rotary Club of Englewood.

Devry Pazant, also a former board member, is president of the Englewood Public School District's board of education and vice chairman on the board of trustees of Englewood's Community Baptist Church.

Finally, the Alfiero and Lucia Palestroni Foundation, represented by Mrs. Palestroni, will be honored for its community involvement for many years with the Community Chest and generosity in the area of health care.

Patron tickets are $150; benefactor tickets are $250. You can register online, here, or by sending a check made out to the Community Chest, 122 South Van Brunt St., Englewood, NJ 07631. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, click here or call 201-568-7474.
