Date Set For Annual 'Leonia Day' Celebration

LEONIA, N.J. — Leonia will celebrate Arbor Day, Earth Day and the borough's own diversity and cultural resources during its annual "Leonia Day" celebration on May 15.

The event will take place in Wood Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities, including:

  • Performances from the Leonia High School Jazz Band and the "Still Standing Band."
  • Petting zoo
  • Pony rides
  • Jinxx the clown
  • Jugglers
  • Bounce house
  • Giant slide
  • Hot dogs, popcorn and baked goods

The Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) will be in the Beechwood parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a paper shredder. The BCUA also encourages residents to drop off old electronics for recycling.

Leonia’s non-profit organizations are invited to set up information tables, sell food or other items, promote their upcoming activities and recruit new members. 

Wood Park is located at 370 Broad Avenue in Leonia.
