The session one showcase is Friday and the session two performance is Aug. 19.
The camp incorporates theater games, dance combinations, lessons in choreography, music appreciation, singing, acting through song and participation in visual arts, among its activities.
The focus is on allowing the children to explore their artistic sides by taking core classes and choose from a host of electives, according to a press release.
"The school is bustling with activity and energy as students spend every day with us learning and developing skills in the performing arts," said Becky Hinkle, managing director at the Performing Arts School at bergenPAC. "The final performances each have a theme and showcase material written by the students, and provide a one-of-a-kind experience for young people to perform in a professional theater."
The school's mission is to provide a complete and all-inclusive education for youths in the area, the release said.
One student new to The Performing Arts School this past school year and participating in the summer camp for the first time is Veronica Guadalupe, 5.
"My little star is getting great training at the bergenPAC summer camp," said her mother, Maria Santana.
"I can't wait to come back again next year," Veronica said. "I like everything — the singing, acting, dancing and coloring. I'm so excited for my show Friday. I'm singing "Walking on Sunshine" and "Seasons of Love."
