"We want to give the community a comfortable place to come enjoy time with family and friends with our great coffee and food," said Tom of The Coffee Barn's February opening.

The Barn serves coffee from Illy in a "hip" industrial environment, Tom said.

"We modeled the place after a Williamsburg or East Village type coffee shop."

The menu features drip coffees, espresso, macchiato, lattes, bubble tea and iced coffee. It also boasts egg sandwiches, pastries and cakes. Lunch and dinner menus include omelets, salads, paninis and rice and noodle bowls.

Tom said he hopes to eventually open more locations in New Jersey and New York.

The Coffee Barn is located at 10 Dempsey Avenue in Edgewater.
